Jon Cohen Joins the Monkey as VP of Survey Research

Welcome to the Monkey, JonI’m pleased to begin 2014 with some exciting news! Jon Cohen has joined our team as VP of Survey Research—a new department within SurveyMonkey dedicated to survey quality. Before joining the team, Jon was the former head of polling at the Washington Post and VP at the nonpartisan think tank, Pew Research.

Continuing SurveyMonkey’s tradition of making sophisticated research fast, simple and scalable, he’ll work with the team to build new products and ensure that the tools and resources available to you are optimized using the highest standards in survey methodology and research.

This will include expanding on our previous successful polling efforts, such as our predictions of the 2012 U.S. presidential and 2013 gubernatorial elections.

As one of the country’s leading pollsters for over 10 years, Jon’s delivered a long series of high-impact, nonpartisan polls and he’s also a top expert in survey data management. His industry expertise and experience in the field will help us expand and diversify the ways that we help you make informed, data-driven decisions. This year, you’ll be seeing a lot more from Jon and his team on the blog: sharing best practices in survey design, research, and more in upcoming Survey Science posts—so stay tuned.

Today is Jon’s first official day and we couldn’t be more thrilled that he’s joined the troop. Warm monkey welcome, Jon! Happy New Year, everyone.
