Tracking brand performance during rapid growth
There aren’t many companies growing as fast as Slack, the web-based team collaboration messaging platform. They’re already integrated with dozens of other apps, and their headcount has grown from dozens to hundreds in just two years.
But what Slack needed to know was whether or not consumers were aware of their brand–and if their level of brand awareness was keeping up with their lightning-fast growth.
Brad Morris, Slack’s Director of Marketing Operations and Advertising, needed a quick, accurate way to measure their brand awareness. And he wasn’t about to pay the steep costs typically required of big market research vendors for a simple brand awareness check.
“I’m a big believer in self-service products, so SurveyMonkey Audience was an easy choice,” Morris said. “With SurveyMonkey Audience, I can run projects on my own and get data back really fast.”
After 3 straight quarters of using SurveyMonkey Audience, Slack has tracked an upward trend in brand awareness. Morris fully plans to continue (and eventually expand) its use. “It’s the best survey panel data in terms of quality that I am aware of,” he said. “I really like it and I can see a lot of uses for it down the road.”
Breaking into a saturated market
That’s why Amir Jamil, who manages consumer research and insights at Land O’Frost, turned to SurveyMonkey Audience. Jamil is able to send surveys to test new product concepts, new ideas—and keep tabs on consumer attitudes and brand awareness.
“SurveyMonkey has helped validate some of the consumer trends in the marketplace and guide us in our decisions,” he said. We’re more organized with our insights and can identify the top needs of consumers.”
We’ve got more customer success stories in our Resource Center to help you think of great ways to use SurveyMonkey to meet your business goals, from gaining actionable market insights to enabling your team to collaborate on surveys.
