Celebrating Giving Tuesday with 10 acts of impact

What’s so special about Giving Tuesday this year?

At SurveyMonkey, we’re shining a spotlight on the nonprofits that aren’t just doing good—they’re using feedback to amplify their impact and solve bigger problems.

To honor the organization's leading change in their communities, we’re donating $10,000 to 10 outstanding nonprofit customers, giving each $1,000. These groups use SurveyMonkey to gather data, listen to their communities, measure progress, and make smarter decisions, all in service of building a better world.

Creating meaningful impact through the power of feedback

We’ve always believed feedback can be a force for good, and these organizations prove it every day. Whether conserving wildlife, expanding access to education, strengthening communities, advancing healthcare, or championing equity, each nonprofit is harnessing the power of surveys, forms, and applications to understand needs in real time and take meaningful action.

Every survey response, form entry, and application submission helps to shape stronger programs. And whether it’s choosing the perfect name for a zoo’s newest family member, gathering input from underserved communities, or funding adaptive sports opportunities, these nonprofits show how listening leads to true and lasting change.

Here’s how this year’s 10 organizations are using feedback to drive impact:

Protecting wildlife and elevating community conservation

Protecting animals and preserving ecosystems requires meaningful community engagement, constant learning, and data-driven decision-making. From conservation research to public programming, wildlife organizations depend on feedback to understand visitor experiences, inspire future conservationists, and strengthen their stewardship of the natural world.

This year, we’re proud to support The Buffalo Zoo, where over 5,000 community members used SurveyMonkey to help name their newborn ocelot, Luciano, or Luca, meaning “bringer of light.” The Maryland Zoo is also using surveys to gather feedback on one of its popular seasonal events, helping refine experiences for families across Baltimore. These organizations show how listening to the community can deepen connection and inspire care for the animals that depend on us.

Expanding education, representation, and opportunity

Creating equitable access to education and career opportunities requires understanding the needs of diverse learners, building inclusive pathways, and continuously improving programs. Feedback helps organizations identify barriers, refine support systems, and amplify voices often underrepresented in academic and professional spaces.

We’re supporting The LAGRANT Foundation, which used SurveyMonkey to gather insights from 500 scholarship alumni (a 74% participation rate!) and uncover new ways to provide value to emerging professionals in the fields of advertising, marketing, and public relations. CareerBump also uses surveys to share applications and gather post-event feedback for the programs it runs for first-generation high school girls preparing for college and careers. Both of these organizations demonstrate how the power of listening can shape more inclusive futures.

Improving health, care, and quality of life

Healthcare organizations and disability advocates rely on feedback to understand patient needs, improve services, and design programs that empower individuals to lead fulfilling lives. Surveys help identify gaps, elevate lived experiences, and build stronger support systems for those navigating health challenges.

This year, we’re proud to support The Parkinson’s Foundation, which uses SurveyMonkey to engage supporters interested in hosting fundraising events that advance research and care for people with Parkinson’s. We’re also supporting The Kelly Brush Foundation, whose adaptive sports scholarships—managed through SurveyMonkey Apply—give people with spinal cord injuries opportunities to regain confidence, movement, and community through sport. And Disability Rights Louisiana is using our platform to engage people with disabilities statewide, helping the organization understand community needs and advance critical protections and advocacy.

Strengthening communities through service and legal support

Stronger communities are built by organizations that listen deeply and respond directly to local needs. Feedback helps nonprofits understand where services are most needed, how programs can be improved, and what support systems matter most for families facing economic, legal, or clothing insecurity.

We’re supporting Cradles to Crayons, which provides essential items like clothing, shoes, and diapers to children experiencing clothing insecurity. When our team volunteered in Boston, they received a SurveyMonkey survey afterward, a perfect example of how they continuously improve the volunteer experience to better serve families. Neighborhood Legal Services is also using SurveyMonkey to gather insights from community partners to better understand local legal needs and strengthen support for low-income residents.

Advancing environmental protection and climate resilience

Protecting the environment and building climate resilience requires collaboration across communities, scientists, practitioners, and local governments. Feedback ensures that funding opportunities, conservation priorities, and climate initiatives reflect the real needs of the ecosystems and people they serve.

We’re proud to support The Nature Conservancy, which also uses SurveyMonkey Apply to manage applications for two of its major regional grant programs. By streamlining the application process, they ensure that conservation and climate funding reaches the organizations and communities making the biggest impact.
