Rebecca Cantieri— Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Becky joined SurveyMonkey in September 2011. Previously, she spent over 11 years at Yahoo! in various HR leadership roles. In her last role at Yahoo!, she was HR Partner for the Advertising Product Group and Search & Marketplaces organizations. Additionally, she served as HR Partner to the CMO and Sales/Marketing Organizations, spent 4 years on Mergers & Acquisitions and held multiple roles in talent acquisition. Before Yahoo!, Becky was at Nordstrom for 8 years in sales, Customer Service and HR roles. Becky received a BA in Public Administration from San Diego State University and an MBA from San Francisco State University.
Jon Cohen— Senior Vice President, Survey Research
Jon joined SurveyMonkey in January 2014. Previously, he was Vice President of Research at the Pew Research Center. As Director of Polling and Polling Editor, he also led The Washington Post’s polling operation through two presidential campaigns and four congressional cycles, as well as numerous gubernatorial and mayoral elections. Prior to the Post, he was a polling expert at ABC News and the Public Policy Institute of California. He is an active member of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR). He previously served on AAPOR’s Executive Council, and as president of its Pacific Chapter, PAPOR. Jon earned an MA in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BA in History from Johns Hopkins University.
Karim Damji— Vice President, Finance
Karim joined SurveyMonkey in March 2012 and is currently responsible for FP&A, Investor Relations, and Procurement. Prior to joining SurveyMonkey he spent eight years at Yahoo! in the Investor Relations and Finance organizations and played a key role in significant M&A and investment transactions. Before Yahoo!, he worked in the Transaction Services and Assurance practices at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Karim has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University and is also a Chartered Accountant.
Luis Franco— Vice President, International Business Operations
Luis joined SurveyMonkey in January 2010. He is responsible for SurveyMonkey’s international operations in Dublin. Previously he was at Portugal Telecom, where he spent 7 years in a number of managerial roles, most recently as General Manager of tradecom.pt and COO of pmelink.pt. Before PT, Luis was a Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting. He has spent much of his career internationally, having worked in the U.S., Germany, Brazil, Spain and the Netherlands. Luis received a BA in Management and a post-graduate degree in Multimedia and Communications Management from the Technical University of Lisbon.
Tom Hale— President
Tom Hale is President of SurveyMonkey. Before joining SurveyMonkey, he was Chief Operating Officer of HomeAway. Over his six years at HomeAway, Tom scaled the engineering, product, design and IT/operations teams, leading the company through HomeAway’s IPO and acquisition by Expedia. Before that, Tom served as Linden Lab’s Chief Product Officer where he redesigned the consumer experience of Second Life. Over 12 years at Macromedia and Adobe, Tom held several executive roles in general management, product management, and marketing, most notably building out the company’s developer and knowledge worker strategies. Following the acquisition of Macromedia by Adobe, Tom was responsible for the Acrobat family of products, including the revamped user experience for Acrobat and integration of the real time collaboration tool Adobe Connect. Tom sits on the board of ReachLocal (NASDAQ: RLOC) a B2B Digital Marketing Services firm, and Intralinks (NASDAQ:IL) a global technology provider of enterprise content management solutions. Tom holds an AB from Harvard University.
Stuart Kerst— Vice President, Sales Strategy and Field Operations
Stuart joined SurveyMonkey in October 2015. Prior to joining SurveyMonkey he spent his career in and around enterprise sales organizations in a variety of roles always focused on improving sales effectiveness and efficiency. While at HP and SAP, he spent five years in the Asia Pacific region leading their field sales organizations through significant Go-to-Market transformations. Stuart has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of San Diego.
Eleanor Lacey— Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Eleanor joined SurveyMonkey in July 2012. Previously, she was the General Counsel & VP, Business Development at Corel Corporation where she was responsible for building and leading the global legal team. Prior to Corel, Eleanor was Corporate Counsel at Autodesk, Inc., and then the General Counsel at Niku Corporation which was later acquired by Computer Associates. She went on to hold senior management roles in the Clarity Division of Computer Associates where she focused on business development and then at SupportSoft, Inc. where she was responsible for M&A and the direct consumer partner channel. Eleanor started her career as a litigator in private practice in San Francisco and received her J.D. from Yale Law School.
Zander Lurie— Chief Executive Officer
Zander was named CEO of SurveyMonkey in January 2016. He has served on SurveyMonkey’s board of directors since 2009, most recently as Chair.
Zander served as Senior Vice President of Entertainment at GoPro, Inc. between November 2014 and January 2016. He currently serves on GoPro’s board of directors. Before his time at GoPro, he served as SVP, Strategic Development at CBS Corporation. He joined CBS via its acquisition of CNET Networks, where he served as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Corporate Development. Zander began his career in the technology investment banking group at JPMorgan, where he led equity transactions and mergers and acquisitions in the Internet sector. He holds a JD and an MBA from Emory University and a BA in Political Science from the University of Washington. Zander co-founded the California-based nonprofit organization CoachArt, which serves chronically ill children and their siblings.
Tim Maly— COO & CFO
Tim joined SurveyMonkey in May 2009. Previously he was at Google, where he spent six years in a variety of senior management roles in Online Sales & Operations. Most recently, he led the Inside Sales and Sales Strategy & Operations teams for AdWords North America. Prior to that, he was Director of Operations for Google Checkout. Tim also built the international business operations for AdSense Online. Before Google, Tim worked as an Associate at Silver Lake Partners, a technology-focused private equity firm and as an Investment Banking Analyst in M&A at Goldman Sachs. Tim received a BSE in Civil Engineering from Princeton University.
Ross Moser— Senior Vice President, Portfolio Investments
Ross joined SurveyMonkey in August 2011. Prior to SurveyMonkey, he spent four years in a variety of leadership roles at Google, most recently leading Chrome distribution. Before that, Ross was a Senior Manager within Consumer Operations and led the cross-product effort in Asia while building global teams responsible for Android and Google’s Mobile products. Before Google, Ross worked as a Corporate Strategy Manager at Brunswick Corporation and Principal Director at Human Factors International, a user experience consulting group. He started his career as a Usability Engineer at Bellcore. Ross holds a BS degree in Human Factors Engineering from Tufts University and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
Steve Norall— Senior Vice President, SurveyMonkey for Business
Steve joined SurveyMonkey in August 2015 through the acquisition of TechValidate, a marketing content automation company, which he co-founded in 2007. He has more than two decades of experience as a serial entrepreneur and operator at SaaS and enterprise software companies. Prior to TechValidate, Steve served as Vice President of Product Marketing at PolyServe, the data clustering software company acquired by HP. Throughout his career, Steve has held leadership roles in product, engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success at companies including Oracle, CGI, and Microsoft. Steve holds a BA in Computer Science from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Brad O’Neill— Senior Vice President, Global Sales
Brad joined SurveyMonkey in August 2015 through the acquisition of TechValidate, a marketing content automation company that he co-founded and built into a high growth, profitable global market leader. Prior to TechValidate, Brad founded the US division of StumbleUpon, the leader in content discovery, after leading its acquisition by eBay in 2007. He has held many sales and revenue leadership positions at enterprise technology companies, including the data clustering software company PolyServe, acquired by HP, and StorageNetworks, which he helped build and take public on Nasdaq in 2000. Brad has a BA from Kalamazoo College, where he currently serves on the board of trustees.
Bennett Porter— Senior Vice President, Marketing Communications
Bennett joined SurveyMonkey in May 2011. Previously, she was VP, Marketing of Yahoo!’s Emerging Markets practice, overseeing all marketing functions in Southeast Asia, South America, India, the Middle East and Africa. Bennett also managed the Yahoo! Buzz Marketing team and developed award-winning programs for non-traditional marketing. Prior to that, she worked at Ogilvy and Manning, Selvage and Lee in New York City. Bennett received a BA in English from The Colorado College and an MS from the SI Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
Ken Ricketts— Vice President, Infrastructure Engineering
Ken joined SurveyMonkey in 2012. Prior to joining SurveyMonkey he held engineering leadership roles at IBM, Marimba, and BMC. Ken’s passion for innovation led him to several small start-ups, including a search technology company acquired by Monster.com. He loves to focus on quality, staffing high performing teams and building robust scalable systems. Ken earned a BS of Business Administration from the University of California, Riverside.
Elena Verna— Senior Vice President, Growth
Elena joined SurveyMonkey in November 2009 as one of the founding members of the company’s Business Intelligence group. Currently, she is responsible for Acquisition, Conversion, Retention, and Billing which includes managing the billing platform, CRM and SEO/SEM channels. Elena also runs the Growth Hacking, AB testing, and Analytics teams. She previously worked in the Marketing Strategy group at Safeway, one of the largest food and drug retailers in the United States. Elena holds a BA in Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley.
Will Wagner— Senior Vice President, Engineering
Will joined SurveyMonkey in September 2010. Prior to joining SurveyMonkey, he held various Engineering leadership roles across Silicon Valley including roles at Ask.com, Echobahn, Visioneer, and Apple Computer. Most recently, Will worked at a small startup called Xmarks that helped users sync their bookmarks across computers and discover websites that were related to their search queries. Will has a BSCS from University of the Pacific and an MBA through Apple Computer’s Management Masters Program.
