2023 Missoula Historic Preservation Commission's Historic Preservation Awards

Award Nominations

The City of Missoula Historic Preservation Commission is proudly recognizing individuals, projects, and organizations who have restored, rehabilitated, or constructed new and historically compatible additions, and who have worked to enhance the character of Missoula's built environment.

Can you think of a project or individual who has worked to improve a property in Missoula or otherwise support Missoula's historic preservation initiatives? Help us identify the folks who have helped enhance Missoula's sense of place and protect our historic fabric.

The annual historic preservation awards will be held in May, during National Historic Preservation Month and will feature an awards ceremony during which we will honor and celebrate the achievements of our award winners.

Projects must have been completed within the past five years.

The nomination period will close Wednesday, March 22nd.

Adaptive Reuse (re-purposing of an historic resource; substantially complies with the Sec. of the Interior's Standards; project maintained the historic significance and integrity of the building/site; substantial reuse of historic materials)

Compatible New Construction - Additions or New Outbuildings (Built within a historic district; compatible addition to an existing historic resource; project is complete as of the time of nomination)

Cultural Features and/or Landscapes (Structures, Signs, Fences, Vegetation/Gardens, View Sheds, Lineal Features, Roads, Boulevards, Canals, Ditches, Curbs and Sidewalks)

Dorothy Ogg Award (Individual in the community who has demonstrated an ongoing contribution to the protection of our community’s cultural resources, has excelled in the field of historic preservation, and/or has demonstrated a significant achievement in the field of historic preservation.)

Centennial Award (Group/Individual who has demonstrated life-time devotion to the field of historic preservation and/or the protection of our community’s cultural resources.)
