City of York Council is co-producing our Inclusion and Belonging Special Educational Needs and Alternative Provision Strategy,2025-2030 and we want your views to help shape this.
Every child and family in York deserve to feel that they belong at school, in their community, and in the wider city. That’s why it's so important that schools, settings and families and practitioners help shape the Inclusion and Belonging Strategy.
Your experiences, ideas, and concerns are essential to getting this right.
By taking part in this consultation, you're helping to build a strategy that reflects real lives and real needs. Together, we can make York a place where every young person feels seen, valued, and supported to thrive.
We’re also inviting schools, parents, carers, and young people to share their views on the development of York’s Autism and ADHD Strategy as this work is closely linked to York’s Inclusion and Belonging Strategy. Inclusion means recognising and valuing all kinds of diversity, including neurodiversity. For children and young people with autism or ADHD, feeling understood, supported, and included at school and in the community is key to a sense of belonging.
This survey will run until Sunday 7th September 2025. We will use this feedback to further shape the strategy.
