Parent Workshops and Activities 2025-2026

Parent Workshops and Activities/ Talleres y actividades para padres

Posen-Robbins School District 143 ½ values the active role parents take in their child’s education. In order to support this relationship, the District has implemented parent education program called “Parent Workshops and Activities.” We offer free classes on various educational topics throughout the school year so parents can become better equipped to support their child’s learning. Research indicates that when schools work together with families to support learning, students perform better in school and throughout life. All classes will be offered in English and Spanish.
El Distrito Escolar Posen-Robbins 143 ½ valora el papel activo de los padres en la educación de sus hijos. Para apoyar esta relación, el Distrito ha implementado un programa de educación para padres llamado "Talleres y Actividades para Padres". Date: Wednesday, November 19, 2025
Time: 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Location: Posen Intermediate School
Join us for an informative session to learn more about the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) for Mathematics! During this session, parents will gain a better understanding of how the Math IAR is structured and what their child can expect during testing.
We’ll explore a sample IAR math practice test that includes 12 questions, with two extended response items, to demonstrate the types of problems students will encounter. You’ll also learn how the assessment is divided into three math units, each containing 12 questions with 2 extended responses.
Additionally, we will review the major math focus areas for Grades 4 and 5, highlighting key skills and concepts students are working on throughout the year. This session is designed to help families better support their child’s learning and confidence in math.
Come learn, ask questions, and discover how to help your student succeed on the IAR!
Thank you!
