Strengthening Families Program - Referral Spring 2026

What is the Strengthening Families Program?

The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) is an evidence-based family skills training program that is facilitated by Butte County Behavioral Health's Prevention Unit staff. Parents and youth attend weekly SFP skills classes together, learning parenting skills and youth life and refusal skills. SFP is open to all Butte County families, and it is a FREE program.

SFP is designed to support:
• Techniques for Communicating
• Building Strengths & Life Skills
• Increasing Positive Parenting
• Handling Emotions & Managing Stress
• Setting Limits & Showing Love

Weekly Schedule:
5:30pm – Dinner

6:00pm – Break Outs

7:00pm – Family Time
7:55pm – Closing

* 14. SFP staff provide basic supervision of children ages 6 and under while families are engaging in break out session groups. Please keep in mind that this service is not considered "licensed child-care."
