Hello and thanks for your interest in new play development!

This survey is part of my study of the process of new play development differs when done in academic versus professional theatre settings.

The impetus for this study comes from both my work as producer/production manager of NYU’s New Plays for Young Audiences and from my observations as an Artistic Associate with the Kennedy Center’s International Playwrights’ Intensive that took place this past spring at the University of Maryland. Both of these experiences have brought up interesting questions about how play development differs in academic and professional settings that I want to explore.

In addition to this anonymous online survey, I am conducting interviews with individuals who have participated in new play development (in professional and/or academic settings). I’d love to chat with you about it. If you're interested, just send me an email (teresa.fisher@bcc.cuny.edu) to set up a virtual or face-to-face interview.

Finally, I would be most appreciative of your help in spreading the word about this study. So please forward this information – especially the survey link -- on to anyone you know who works or has worked in new play development.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. My contact info is listed in my signature below.

This survey closes January 31, 2017.

Many thanks!
