Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care Strategic Plan Discovery Survey Welcome! Thank you for participating in the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) strategic planning process taking place from October 2019 through March 2020. We are excited to hear from you! Note: If you or one of your partners require translation or other support to complete this survey, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. In the survey below, we ask a series of questions about children in Massachusetts – and how we can support them to enter kindergarten ready to learn – as well as support their families. We also ask if there are documents or materials you would like to upload so they can be reviewed in our planning process. These may include other plans, meeting minutes, initiative summaries, or anything else you feel appropriate to our process. For your reference - EEC services include programs for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school age children during out of school time; group homes, foster care and adoption placement agencies, residential schools for children with special needs; and programs like home-visiting and family engagement networks. Our strategic goals are that: All young children in the Commonwealth will be ready to enter the K-12 education system and be successful and their families will be provided with the opportunities to support their children’s cognitive, socio-emotional, language, and physical development. Programs offered in early childhood, out of school time settings licensed or license exempt by EEC will promote and support the high-quality education and healthy development of children that enables all children to be successful as school members and citizens. The early childhood and out-of-school time workforce who works with children ad families in the Commonwealth is professional prepared, adequately compensated, and diverse. The Department and the Board of Early Education and Care will provide leadership, direction and resources to meet the mission of the agency with utmost integrity, transparency and accountability to the people of the Commonwealth. In addition to this survey, EEC is scheduling a series of regional learning sessions to hear from community members in person – please click here to access the Strategic Roadmap Hub, where you can find session dates and register to attend.
