Section 3 - The Project

* 12. Outline the project’s aim, the target group that you will be working with, and the community need that you intend to tackle. What impact do you intend your project to have on the community?

* 13. Describe the project you would like to run within your Community. How does the project use STEM to benefit the Community?

(STEM refers to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. While different definitions of STEM exist, this Fund focuses on the core of STEM fields: life sciences, physical sciences including earth sciences, health science and environmental science, IT and computer science, engineering and mathematics).

Deliverables and generic learning and social outcomes refers to what the Applicant, in collaboration with researcher/STEM Professional, will be submitting as outputs/outcomes of their collaborative project.
Examples of generic learning outcomes include fostering skills, improving attitudes or values, inspiring experimentation and innovation.
Examples of generic social outcomes include empowering communities, encouraging and supporting awareness and participation, improving health and wellbeing.

Examples of deliverables include workshop/s, seminar/s, journal/s, outreach, etc.

* 17. The National STEM Community projects don't only benefit the community that was involved; sharing the process, results and lessons learned can encourage, help and even inspire others. Please describe how you plan on sharing your results, which should include a way for others to access your project's legacy in the future.

* 18. Give an outline of your project timeline and its implementation, including any data collection that you intend to carry out. If you would like to submit a Gantt chart, you can do so as a pdf in Section 4.
Please note that the first 70% of funding will be released around the end of September 2024, and your project must be finished and the final report submitted by 12th September 2025. More details are available in the Guidelines document on the website.

* 19. Does your application have state aid implications?

The EU does not allow Governments to grant funding that will distort market competition by favouring certain businesses or service providers - this is called "state aid". Some Government funding can still be given to market operators, but with certain limits, and it must be declared.

The National STEM Community Fund will be implemented in line with the de Minimis regulation on State Aid and Article 107(1) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. If your application is likely to have state aid implications, you will need to follow state aid regulations and fill in the required form.
