Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is a cornerstone employer in the West Midlands, and a linchpin of the modern-day manufacturing sector, with an extensive supply chain across the region.

The Chambers of Commerce across the West Midlands Combined Authority area (Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, and the Black Country Chamber of Commerce) are proud to work closely with both Jaguar Land Rover and firms in their supply chain.

At the end of August, JLR proactively shut down systems across multiple sites in response to a cyber-attack.

JLR have launched a funding package to support their supply chain’s liquidity, offering a mix of upfront financing and invoice factoring to their Tier 1 suppliers.

As of w/c 6th October JLR has begun a phased restart of UK operations.
However, given the scale of the disruption arising from the cyber-attack, we are seeking urgent clarity on:
1. How the Government will work with JLR to identify businesses further down the supply chain and ancillary businesses that sit alongside the supply chain that have been impacted, and are in greatest need of support.
2. What mechanisms will be put in place to ensure the money reaches the most vulnerable businesses quickly and effectively.

Through this snap poll, we are looking to understand the ongoing impact of this cyber-attack across the region, and how stakeholders can strengthen available support. Anonymised information provided will be shared directly with Jaguar Land Rover as well as regional and national stakeholders.
