Leadership Adams Youth Academy Summary and Goals:
Goals:
- Develop leadership skills
- For students to connect with key influencers in the county
- For students to explore career opportunities in the county
- For students to experience service opportunities in the county
Summary:
- Nine day program on October 17, November 21, December 19, January 16, February 20, March 20, April 17, May 15, and June 11, 8:00am - 3:30pm in West Union.
- Educational component consisting of a John Maxwell curriculum plus site visits to key places in Adams County.
- Two participants (from Junior and Senior classes) from all six high schools in Adams County are eligible (includes CTC and Adams Co Christian School).
- Two $500 scholarships will be awarded based on participation, attendance, engagement, and a project/essay to be completed at the end of the program
Basic Selection Criteria for Leadership Adams Youth Academy:
An important factor in selection is identifying those individuals most apt to utilize their leadership for the long-term benefit of the community.
Basic criteria for achieving this selection are:
- Individuals with a sincere commitment, motivation, and interest in service to the community
- Individuals who have demonstrated commitment by past community activities
- Individuals who will make a commitment to set aside nine full days to attend the academy.
- Two participants from each of the six high schools in Adams County (Juniors and Seniors)
