On 25th October 2025, thousands of people from across Scotland came together in Edinburgh to demand that politicians make the changes we need for a society where every household can thrive and prosper.
The march and rally in Edinburgh was organised by a coalition of organisations from across civil society, trade unions and faith groups and was supported by over 280 organisations in Scotland. Together we stood up for hope, positive change, and a better nation for all of us. The campaign had three headline demands, focused on tackling poverty in Scotland. The demands were:
-We demand better jobs for everyone who needs one, with fair conditions and wages that pay the bills
-We demand better investment for life’s essentials – like affordable homes, good public transport, a thriving natural environment, and strong public services
-We demand better social security so that all of us have a foundation for the future
The Poverty Alliance is now embarking on an evaluation of the campaign to date, with a particular focus on the march and rally on the 25th October, to understand what worked and what lessons we can learn for the future. We would like to invite you to complete the evaluation survey so that your views and experiences can inform the campaign evaluation. The evaluation is being supported by
UNITY Consulting, who have worked with us throughout the campaign in 2025.
Deadline for responding is 12th January 2026. Thank you.
