Help shape the new National Pathology Standard

Survey for Consumers

Have your say

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) develops standards to make sure everyone in Australia gets high-quality health care. The Commission is updating the National Pathology Standard for pathology laboratories.

Accreditation to standards provides the community and the Australian Government with the assurance that a pathology laboratory meets expected safety and quality standards and has quality improvement processes in place. Accreditation is a requirement for pathology laboratories offering Medicare rebates for services.

The Commission is seeking consumer feedback on the draft National Pathology Standard and has developed a consumer fact sheet to introduce the standard.
