Health and Safety Rep (HSR) Training
Whilst the PSA is a WorkCover Accredited Training Provider for HSR Training it is no longer offering these courses.
However it is recommended that you contact Unions NSW at whs@unionsnsw.org.au for courses they may be running in your area.
You do not need to be a union member to attend any HSR course offered by Unions NSW.
Under the NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2011, Section 72, HSRs can choose their training provider following consultation with the employer (PCBU).
The employer (PCBU) must pay your course fees and provide you with adequate time to attend the course.
The 5 day course is aimed to provide newly elected Health & Safety Reps (HSRs) with relevant information and skills in order to undertake their role under the new Work Health and Safety legislation.
The course allows HSRs to fully utilise their powers under the new safety laws.
The 1 day Refresher Training is available to trained HSRs as a yearly update.
