About the Survey
The purpose of this survey is to gauge your opinions about a wide range of topics in West Haven for its next Plan of Conservation & Development (POCD). A POCD is a document that contains a long-term, 10-year vision for the future of a municipality. It contains goals, policies, and recommendations for guiding the physical, economic, social, and environmental aspects of the municipality in accordance with that vision. West Haven’s last POCD was adopted almost ten years ago in 2017. The State of Connecticut requires all municipalities to prepare a POCD every 10 years. The results of this survey will help us understand the aspects of West Haven that are working well—that people value and enjoy today—and those aspects that need to be improved and that need the most attention and investment. The survey consists of 14 questions that will take a total of 6-8 minutes to complete, depending on how much you have to say. Questions with an asterisk (*) next to them must be answered to advance to the next question.
The survey does not ask any questions about the Center/Downtown because the Downtown Municipal Development Plan, which presents a future vision for the area, was recently published. However, you are welcome to share opinions and ideas about the Center/Downtown where appropriate in this survey.
