2027 Call for Webinar Topics

IAAP is now accepting webinar proposals for our 2027 educational programming. This year, we are simplifying the submission process with one Call for Webinar Topics covering all three of our webinar series.

When submitting your proposal, you will be asked to select the series you believe is the best fit for your topic. As we review submissions and develop the 2027 schedule, IAAP may recommend placing a webinar in a different series based on the topic, format, and overall programming needs.

Professional Education Series
Regularly scheduled webinars covering core accessibility topics, including digital accessibility, the built environment, and accessible documents. Designed for both new and experienced professionals, these sessions provide practical, foundational knowledge that can be applied in the workplace.

Advanced Learning Series
Expert-led, in-depth mini-series that explore specific accessibility topics or industry-focused themes in greater detail. Offered several times throughout the year, these series are designed for professionals looking to deepen their knowledge and expertise.

Subject Matter Expert Webinars
Standalone webinars featuring a broad range of accessibility topics—from inclusive hiring and accessible meetings to inclusive language, emerging practices, and other timely issues. These sessions provide practical insights and perspectives from experienced practitioners.

We welcome proposals that share practical knowledge, explore emerging issues, highlight effective practices, and help accessibility professionals grow their skills. Submit your topic for consideration and help shape IAAP's 2027 educational programming.

Topics may be of interest to anyone whose job requires accessibility awareness or competence – including but not limited to accessibility professionals, policy makers, developers, designers, testers and others involved in the creation or implementation of accessible technology, content, services, programs, and policies. If you don't see the topic you would like to present on but it applies to this target audience, please submit for consideration.

Webinars may be targeted to all skill levels. We have had requests for more advanced level presentations.

IAAP webinars are 60-minute long sessions, including time for Q&A, and involve sharing a slide deck (Powerpoint, PDF, or HTML) through the Zoom screen sharing option. They can also include desktop sharing of programs or resources and additional handout materials.

DEADLINE: All submissions must be received by October 15, 2026.

Webinar proposals will be reviewed by the IAAP Organizational & Professional Development Committee for content and scheduling. You will be contacted as soon as possible as to the status of your submission.

Accessibility Programs, Governance & Procurement – organizational accessibility, policies, standards, vendor accountability, and sustainable programs.
Measuring Accessibility Progress & Impact – metrics, maturity, benchmarking, reporting, and organizational change.
Accessibility Policy, Legislation & Global Regulations – regulatory developments, advocacy, and international approaches to accessibility.
Intersectionality, Culture & Accessibility – cultural, Indigenous, religious, aging, and other lived-experience perspectives.
Assistive Technology & Technology Adoption – how people use and adopt assistive and accessibility technologies.
Accessibility Careers & Professional Development – career pathways, specialized expertise, professional growth, and leadership.
The Future of Accessibility – anticipating emerging barriers, technologies, and opportunities for more inclusive experiences.
