Town of Versailles Water Improvement Project

The Town of Versailles intends to apply for a $750,0000 construction grant funding from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). If approved, the grant funds will be used for a Water Improvement Project. The proposed project will include the following components:


1. 75,000-Gallon Tank Demolition
2. Meter Pit/Setter Replacements
3.Hydrant Replacements
4.Service Line Replacement

There will be public engagement meetings at The Versailles Town Hall the following dates:
February 11, 2026 @ 6:00 pm
February 12, 2026 @ 1:00 pm

Public hearings will be at the Versailles Town Council Meeting on the following dates:
March 10, 2026 @ 7:00 pm
May 12, 2026 @ 7:00 pm

All residents are encouraged to attend!
1.Are you aware the smaller water tower located near Family Dollar is no longer used and needs to be torn down?(Required.)
2.Do you have concerns about this aged storage tank?(Required.)
3.On a scale of 1-5, with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor, how is the water pressure at your residence?(Required.)
4.On a scale of 1-5, with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor, how is the water quality at your residence (is the water clear and taste good)?(Required.)

10.The Town evaluated the cost for system-wide water softening which could cost approximately $2 million. Would you be willing to pay an additional $13-17 dollars per month for a system-wide water softening system?(Required.)
11.Do you support the Town upgrading the system to remove old piping and
water meters to detect leaks?(Required.)
12.Do you support The Town of Versailles in applying for the Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) construction project for water improvements to keep water rates as low as possible?(Required.)
