Urban Design Code Update Project Survey

Survey Introduction
In a recipe for baking a cake there are ingredients that need to be combined for the cake to taste and look right. Similarly, in the design of a building there are certain “ingredients” that need to be included for the building to be functional and successful its location. These design elements, or “ingredients”, are things like windows, doors, exterior materials, overall size and length, placement on a site, architectural style and details, etc. As part of the Urban Design Code Update Project, staff are working collaboratively with City agencies, the community, stakeholder groups, and property owners to explore and study what building design elements, or “ingredients”, are most important when looking at the design of a building and where building design should be regulated in the City. The questions in this survey are aimed at answering those two questions.

The input gathered from this survey will be paired with feedback from other stakeholder and focus groups. All input will be summarized in a published report that will be completed over the next few months.
