Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking expressions of interest from local artists to participate in upcoming Live & Local programming.

About the program

Live & Local aims to build the ecology of our Region's live music scene, where artists can build sustainable careers within a vibrant, inclusive network of live music venues and performance spaces.

Like many other forms of creative enterprise, the music sector has faced challenges with the rise of digital platforms, changing audiences, and COVID-19. Live & Local works to remove barriers for artists by providing them:
  • business knowledge and professional development
  • creative skills development
  • connections to venues and industry practitioners.
Live & Local is delivered in partnership with the Live Music Office and APRA AMCOS.

By registering your interest, you'll be the first to know about free workshops covering songwriting, career development, music rights, publicity, marketing, distribution, streaming, and more. Creative skills development workshops are also in the pipeline to get you across sound, lighting, recording, film, and photography.

You'll also get the chance to showcase your talents through upcoming micro-festivals, get paid, connect with venues and music industry practitioners, and contribute to the growth of the live music scene in your own community.

To participate in Live & Local, you must be local to the Toowoomba Region. We're particularly interested in acoustic artists and soloists, duos, and small trios who can work in easily with local venues.
