American Whitewater needs your help to define streamflows that support the full range of recreational boating opportunities on the South Platte River, from below the dam on Elevenmile Reservoir through Waterton Canyon and including Bailey and Foxton on the North Fork of the South Platte.

Information collected by this study will be used to assess river-dependent recreation on the South Platte River. We have developed this survey so individuals and outfitters can report how changes in stream flows affect recreation quality on each of our targeted river segments. Your input will help American Whitewater identify the full range of flows necessary to support recreation experiences, from technical low water to challenging high water opportunities. The information you provide will identify existing use and how it can be protected as well as enhance economies that rely on environmental and recreational water uses.

The river segments targeted by this study include:

1) South Platte River - Below the dam for Elevenmile Reservoir to Lake George (Eleven Mile Canyon)

2) South Platte River - Beaver Creek to Cheeseman Reservoir (Wildcat Canyon)

3) South Platte River - Cheeseman Reservoir to Deckers

4) South Platte River - Deckers to Confluence of North Fork of the South Platte River (Deckers Run)

5) South Platte River, North Fork - Bailey to Pine

6) South Platte River, North Fork - Foxton

7) South Platte River - Waterton Canyon

You will only be asked to respond to survey questions for the segments you have personally experienced.
