Tree Planting Scheme

Consultation

June 2026

Introduction

South Kesteven District Council is committed to protecting and enhancing the natural environment across South Kesteven. Increasing the number of trees and the amount of tree canopy cover we have is one of the ways we can do this.

The benefits of trees and woodlands are wide-ranging. They provide habitats and corridors for wildlife, create pleasant environments for relaxation and recreation, and help communities to adapt to a changing climate by regulating temperatures and water run-off.

SKDC would like to know if you support our plans to plant trees on the area of land to the west of Scotney Drive and south of Tennyson Avenue and if you do, if you would be interested in helping to plant them.

Known locally as the Blessed Hugh More site and listed as an asset of community value, this area has been identified as an ideal potential location for a tree planting scheme.

Working in partnership with the Woodland Trust, a design for the site has been drawn up, which would see up to 1,000 trees and shrubs planted.

This project is part of our wider commitment to increase the number of trees in the district. To find out more about our plans, and how this scheme contributes towards them, please click here to view our Tree and Woodlands Strategy.

Please spare us a few moments to complete this survey. Your views are important to us and we look forward to hearing what you have to say.

Thank you for your time.
