Introduction

Thank you for participating in our survey. Your feedback is important and will inform the updates to these important documents for the RM.

Your participation will also provide you with an opportunity to enter your name into a draw for a chance to win a $100 Co-op gift certificate.
Background

An Official Community Plan (OCP) is a wide-ranging Plan that sets the long-term vision for the community. The OCP outlines the goals and directions to manage the physical, environmental, economic, social, and cultural development of the RM. The purpose of the OCP is to manage the growth of your RM and identify what the community members considers important.

The Zoning Bylaw is made up of the policies that fulfill the goals and objectives included in the OCP and includes a Zoning Map that separates the community into different land use districts (ex. residential, industrial, commercial, etc.). The Zoning Bylaw identifies the type of development that can locate in those districts and guides land use and development. The goal of the Zoning Bylaw is to maintain the health and safety of the RM, avoid land use conflicts, and ensure municipal services are provided in a cost-effective manner.
We need your help!

You are the experts in your community. We need to learn what is important to you and to understand how you want your RM to grow. We would like to know what is working, what could use some attention, and what are the key issues. Your input will help form key policy directions for your RM and set the priorities of the OCP. Your input will also provide direction to your Council and Administration to help inform their decisions, and better understand your priorities. Your input will also be used to prepare draft policies that are intended to meet the goals you have identified in the survey.

As a first step, we have developed this survey to give you an opportunity to provide your input. The survey will ask several questions about the challenges and opportunities in your RM and will take about 15 minutes to complete. The survey will not ask you for any personal information, and all responses will be anonymous.

We will post the survey results on your community’s website and will email the results to anyone who volunteers their email address at the end of the survey.

Additional engagement events will be held in the future to present preliminary ideas and ask whether they meet your goals for your community. Watch for advertisements for future engagement events both later this year, and early in the new year.

Thank you!
