The Community Action Committee of Pike County (CACPC) is studying transportation services provided within Pike County by the Community Action Transit System (CATS). We want to improve transportation so it’s easier to use, more reliable, and better supports people getting to work and other job-related needs in the region.

We’re asking riders and community members to share their thoughts on how Pike County can improve transportation services.
About this survey
Over the past few months, the project team has gathered information about the existing transit services and feedback from the community through an online survey, community meetings, and focused discussions with stakeholders. Based on what we heard, two draft service options are presented in this survey. These are not final decisions; they are options for discussion. Your feedback will help guide final recommendations.

Quick Definitions

Below are some quick definitions of transit terms used in this survey:

Fixed Route:
A bus that follows a regular route and schedule.

Deviated service:
A bus usually follows a regular route, but it can make a brief detour to pick up or drop off a rider within the service area if you request it ahead of time.

Demand response: A shared ride you request. Instead of everyone using the same fixed route at the same time, trips are arranged based on requests.

Microtransit: An on-demand shared ride. You request a ride, and service provides trips within a defined area.

Flex Route: A service that combines fixed route and microtransit. A bus that follow regular route and schedule that temporarily has flexibility to make requested stops in a specific service area.
