Modernised Anti‑Discrimination Legislation- Goods, Facilities and Services to the public questionnaire

Introduction

The Falkland Islands Government (FIG) is currently developing modernised anti-discrimination legislation, with the first phase focusing on protections relating to race.

This means it will be unlawful to treat a person less favourably because of their race (discrimination), to subject them to unwanted conduct related to race that violates their dignity or creates an offensive environment (harassment), or to treat them unfairly because they have made or supported a complaint about discrimination (victimisation).

This questionnaire focuses on the provision of goods, facilities and services to the public. It aims to help FIG understand current practices, anticipate the impact of proposed legislation, and identify what support and guidance organisations may find most useful.

You are a provider of goods, facilities or services if you offer something to customers, clients, members, or the public. This includes:

• selling goods
• providing services
• allowing people to use or access facilities.

It applies whether the service is paid or unpaid. If people use, buy, or access what you offer, you should complete the Goods, Facilities and Services to the public questionnaire, which will take 5 minutes to complete.

There are no right or wrong answers — we are interested in your experiences and views. Your feedback will help ensure the legislation is clear, fair, and practical.
