Lax Kw'alaams Community Halibut Survey

2.Welcome to the Lax Kw'alaams Community Halibut Survey

Lax Kw'alaams Fisheries Department is asking for feedback from community members to help us create a Halibut Sustainable Management Plan. Halibut is an important source of food and income for our community, and it is a resource we want to protect for generations to come.

Your response to this survey will help us understand the current state of the fishery, how it has changed over time, community concerns and priorities, and what our members would like to see in the future to ensure a successful halibut fishery.

This survey has 50 questions and will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. All questions are optional, but you must complete at least 15 questions to be eligible for the prize draws.

Prizes: all eligible respondents will be entered into a prize draw once the survey period is over. If you want to be entered into the draw, make sure you include your full name and contact information, and check 'yes' to further contact.

We are also conducting in-person interviews, and particularly want to hear from elders, knowledge-holders, and fishers. If you would prefer to schedule an in-person interview or have any questions about this project, please contact Alex Latimer at alex_gis@laxband.com
