Lewis County is working to update its Agricultural Enhancement Plan, originally adopted in 2004. As part of this effort, the Lewis County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board is reaching out to the public, farmers and farmland owners, and agri-businesses to identify issues, needs, and opportunities to enhance agriculture in the County.

The definition of agriculture is the science, art, or practice of cultivating the soil, producing crops, and raising livestock and in varying degrees the preparation and marketing of the resulting products cleared the land to use it for agriculture. Thus also included are dairy, maple, forestry, Christmas trees, grapes, vegetables, fruits, horticulture, bees, and more.

To better understand the interests and perspectives of farmers and farmland owners, we have put together the following anonymous survey and hope you will share your thoughts with us. We welcome your input and thank you in advance for contributing to this very important effort.
