There's £22,500 to spend on protecting Kincardine's heritage – we need your help to decide where it goes.

Members of your community have spent time choosing important heritage in Kincardine that needs to be protected from the impacts of climate change.

Six heritage projects have been identified. Now, we need you to tell us which projects are the most important to you, to help protect Kincardine’s history for the future.

This activity was initially carried out in 2024 following creation of a Local Resilience Plan. One project (on path accessibility) is ongoing, however the Community Centre's closure means half of the initial fund has to be re-allocated. Learn more about the project and this second phase here.

Heritage in Kincardine

Six potential projects have been designed based on the 2024 Plan and recent discussions with local community groups. All projects aim to protect Kincardine's heritage and increase local climate resilience.

Please read the descriptions below. You will be asked to split £21,000 between heritage projects (in seven chunks, each worth £3,000) so think about which ones you would like to see funded.

Allocating the funding

You have a vote in how the re-allocated fund is spent.

Please indicate how you would like individual chunks of £3,000 to be spent by choosing your preferred heritage project for each chunk. (You can split up the total in any way, the order does not matter.)

For example:
  • Choosing Digital Library for all 7 questions indicates that you want all £22,500 to be spent on it.
  • Choosing Digital Library for 2 questions and Industrial Heritage on Foot for the other 5 indicates that you want £6,000 to be spent on the Digital Library and £15,000 on Industrial Heritage on Foot.

Note: £21,000 is used here (instead of the fund total of £22,500) for neater division and to avoid further complication. This exercise is purely illustrative to show where you think proportions of the total fund should be spent.
