JPNIC (Japan Network Information Center) serves as the National Internet Registry (NIR) as well as the Internet Promotion Body for Japan to ensure the stable operation of the nation’s Internet infrastructure.
Japan is currently facing challenges in securing and developing network engineers, particularly among regional ISPs and small operators. Structured career development and training programs are still limited, and new approaches to capacity building are needed.
This survey is part of a joint research initiative between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and JPNIC. Our aim is to learn from international experiences and apply these insights to policy development in Japan. Findings of this survey may be shared at future forums.
