Overview
Sacred Spaces is expanding our Seivah: Sacred Aging cohort model with a new cohort designed for partnership. We recognize no single organization can meet the growing needs of older adults alone. Collaboration is essential, and this cohort is built around that premise.
With generous support from the Sephardic Foundation on Aging, we’re inviting professionals from Jewish organizations that offer programming and services to older Jewish adults to apply in pairs—two individuals from two different organizations in the same geographic area. Individuals may also partner with someone from a secular organization, as long as the collaboration is focused on preventing and responding to elder abuse in the Jewish community.
Participants will engage in:
- Expert-led learning sessions focused on elder abuse prevention and response
- Peer-based community of practice sessions
- Optional implementation of a joint project, supported by a stipend of $1600.
Together, the cohort will explore:
- Recognizing signs of elder abuse, elder neglect, and understanding barriers to disclosure.
- Jewish texts and values that can ground prevention efforts
- Strengthening coordination, referrals, and shared approaches within the community.
- Opportunities to develop collaborative strategies tailored to their local ecosystem.
The cohort will run from Summer 2026 through February 2027. Cohort members commit to attending all three learning sessions (2 hours each) and 2 our of 3 peer-to-peer sessions.
