The Trail Conservancy (TTC) is working to improve the Trail and its connections by bringing to life three projects originally proposed in the 2014 Austin Parks and Recreation Department’s Holly Shores/Edward Rendon Sr. Park Vision Plan.
  • A Holly Shores Trailhead. This project will add a new trailhead/park to the Butler Trail at the end of Pedernales St and Metz Park. The trailhead will also mark the connection between the Holly neighborhood, the future East Link Trail, and the Butler Trail.
  • Holly Shores Trail Enhancements. This project will add another layer to the recently completed multi-use Lakefront Trail that connects the Butler Trail along the shoreline of the decommissioned Holly Power Plant. This project could include adding shade structures, drinking fountains, additional trees, and play features.
  • Holly Shores Play Area. The Vision Plan highlighted a new one-acre play area between Fiesta Gardens and the Lorraine “Grandma” Camacho Activity Center along Jesse E. Segovia Street. The Plan advises developing this area as a center for children’s activities.
We want to hear from you! Take our 10-minute survey to make your voice heard and share your memories of Holly Shores/Edward Rendon Sr. to impact the future of your park.
