Thank you for your interest in applying to be a volunteer on a Compass team. Even if you are not new to Compass, please read this section carefully before completing the application. We have an exciting list of projects for 2018-19. For a more detailed description of projects and clients, please visit our website at www.compassprobono.org. Short descriptions are included later in this application.

REQUIREMENTS: Compass recruits from our partner MBA alumni clubs, top local corporations, consulting and law firms, and individuals with substantial board and nonprofit experience. We seek professionals with at least one year of post-undergraduate work experience, who have expertise in consulting, strategy, finance, marketing and organizational management. An MBA is not required for the Team Member position.

DEADLINE: The Team Member application deadline is Friday, October 12 at 5:00 p.m.

NOTE: If you are new to Compass, after submitting this application please also send your current resume to Mary Chandler Philpott at mcphilpott@compassdc.org.

Team assignments will be announced through email in mid-October.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT: Leading a Compass project requires a meaningful time commitment, averaging 3 - 5 hours per week through May. Project Leaders will be trained in late September and begin working with clients right away to narrow project scope. Project teams will be formed, trained, and begin meeting in late October. Teams will typically meet in person at least twice per month, occasionally at the client site but usually at the workplace of a team member or another convenient location. Each team decides when and where they will meet but coming together frequently is essential to project success and volunteer satisfaction.

IMPORTANT DATES: Please mark your calendar now for the following mandatory training sessions:

Volunteer Orientation on Thursday, October 25, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Service Line Training on Tuesday, October 30, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

QUESTIONS: If you have any questions about your qualifications, the selection process, or any of this year's clients, please feel free to contact us.
