Questionnaire to measure accessibility of the lake formed by the chalk stream known as the River Cray, by the Five Arch bridge at the Foots Cray Meadows, for people with mobility issues

1.Background to this survey

The Friends of Foots Cray Meadows (FFCM) is an organisation made up of volunteers who work in partnership with London Borough of Bexley to encourage public interest in, and the conservation of Foots Cray Meadows. You can find out more by visiting our website www.footscraymeadows.org/friends

FFCM would like to measure the accessibility of the lake area which has been formed by the chalk stream, known as the River Cray, adjacent to the Five Arch Bridge. To do this we will engage with disabled users and organisations/charities that represent disabled users. This questionnaire forms part of that process.

This short questionnaire is only to be completed by people who use mobility equipment such as wheelchairs, mobility scooters, rollators, walking frames, walking sticks or crutches or other mobility support in order to access public spaces. If you are a carer for the person affected by mobility issues and they are only able to complete the questionnaire with your support please answer the questions on their behalf as if they were responding themselves. We want to understand whether you would use Foots Cray Meadows if it was made more accessible, safe, and convenient for you.

The questionnaire may take up to 15 minutes to complete.

Your answers are anonymous and will be used to help FFCM bid for funding to improve accessibility to this beautiful area for people with mobility issues. NO names or identifying details will be included in our final report of this survey’s results.

By completing this survey you consent to us using this information as described above. You can choose which questions you answer and do not have to answer every question.

If you would like to hear from us about opportunities to get more involved in this project, you can add your contact details at the end of the survey. This is optional.

This survey will close at midnight on Sunday 1st November 2026.
