Southern Downs Regional Council Flood and Risk Studies |
Have your say
Southern Downs Regional Council is undertaking Flood and Risk Studies for the catchments of Condamine River and Tributaries (Dalrymple Creek, Canal Creek), as well as a Flood Study for Quart Pot Creek. The Studies will measure the nature and extent of the existing flooding conditions, understand the potential implications as a result of future climatic conditions, evaluate options that could potentially be implemented to better manage the existing, future, and continued flood risk, and reduce the community’s exposure to flooding from catchment rainfall runoff.
The studies will also seek to achieve holistic catchment and region-wide outcomes and set a blueprint for flood risk management studies in the region.

To assist Council in completing these studies, we want to hear from the community about their own personal experiences with flooding. Have you experienced flooding at your home in the past? Do you have information or even photos to share with our team? We want to hear from you!
Your first-hand experience with flooding events, along with any information you can provide, will assist the team in corroborating the flooding model and technical investigations. Please complete the survey below to share your own personal insights and experiences with the team.
Community consultation will be open from 8 January 2024 to 4 February 2024.
