Who we are
The Australian Community Workers Association leads the development, identity, registration and recognition of the community work profession.

Why we developed this survey
We have heard first hand of practices and conditions within community services that help and hinder the development and professionalism of workers. Some of these are specific to individual workplaces and others are sector wide problems that need addressing. To do this however, we need substantive evidence as to the degree that these practices, both the good and the bad, are in use.

What the findings will be used for
To inform our workforce development and advocacy work, as well as that of other relevant bodies and agencies. The findings will be particularly useful for us when we engage with industry around the new employer code of conduct.

Who can take part
This is a national survey open to both members and non-members. If you are currently employed in a community services position then we would value your participation. We are looking for frontline workers (eg. support workers, case workers), practitioners (eg. counsellors, youth workers) and supervisors (eg. team leaders, program managers).

This survey is not suitable for private practitioners.

What you will be asked
This is an anonymous survey. You will not be asked to name yourself or your employer. The survey is made up of 24 questions related to your position and the working conditions and practices within your workplace as they relate to topics like professional supervision and development. Most questions are multiple choice.
