Consent to Participate

This study is being conducted by John Siegel (Coordinator of Information Literacy) at the University of South Carolina Upstate Library to investigate librarians’ perceptions and implementation of the ACRL (Association of College and Research Libraries) Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education. The results of the study are anticipated to be presented at professional conferences or included as part of a journal article.

Your participation is strictly voluntary. However, your assistance in completing this web-based survey would be appreciated. The survey will ask questions about your familiarity and use of the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education. The survey should take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.

You must be at least 18 years old to participate in the survey. The survey is open to MLS/MLIS accredited librarians that provide course-incorporated library instruction at their institution and have heard or read about the ACRL Framework.  

Your submission of this survey indicates your consent to participate in this study. Please be assured that your responses will be anonymous. There are no questions that request self-disclosure of information that could be used to identify you. There is no payment or direct benefit for your participation. In addition, it is not anticipated that the survey will provide you, as the participant, any discomfort. You are free to discontinue participation at any time during the survey. There are no negative consequences if you decide to discontinue participation.
