Grant Program Overview

When you submit an application to the Startup Junkie Foundation, UpStart Grant Program, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information;
- Allow us to confidentially evaluate your application internally at the Startup Junkie Foundation;
- Acknowledge that submission of an application does not guarantee grant award;
The Startup Junkie Foundation reserves the right to decline or terminate consideration of any application at our sole discretion.
Please don't apply unless your business is physically located in Washington County, Arkansas and is a for-profit entity. The grant awards start at $500 and can be no more than $5,000 are provided by the sales proceeds derived from efforts of an all volunteer non-profit thrift store called Upstart Thrift that is a program of the 501c3, Startup Junkie Foundation. The intent is to provide a hand up to deserving for-profit small businesses in Washington County, Arkansas. Applicants will only be eligible for one award. Applications will be reviewed quarterly, and selected awardees will be notified thereafter. The top candidates will be contacted to conduct a brief interview. Candidates who do not receive a grant are still eligible for funds via Kiva NWA and free consulting from Startup Junkie.

10.Have you been in business for less than five years? (IF NOT, YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.  PROOF WILL BE REQUESTED.)
11.Enter your date of incorporation, or the date your operating agreement or business charter was filed with the Arkansas Secretary of State. Also provide the Arkansas Secretary of State Filing Number for your business.
12.Is your business entity in good standing with the State of Arkansas (have all franchise taxes been paid)?
13.Do you or your business currently have any liens or any lawsuits currently in progress?
14.If your business currently has existing debt or loans of any type please describe the amount owed and indicate whether or not you are current in your payments.
15.UpStart Small Business Grants range from $500 to $5,000. The exact amount awarded will be determined by the review committee based on expressed need and available resources. Please explain how funding at different levels would support your business. For example, what would you accomplish with $500, $2,500, or $5,000? Clearly define how you would use the funds and what results you expect to achieve over the next year.
*Your response must include details for all funding levels ($500, $1,000, $2,500, and $5,000). Clearly explain how each amount would be used and what it would help you accomplish over the next year. Applications that do not provide descriptions for each funding level will not be considered.

Eligibility. Open to persons who are: (a) legal residents of Washington County, Arkansas and (b) at least 18 or older at the date of entry in this Contest. Employees and directors, and their immediate family members, of the Contest Entities, and their parents, affiliated and subsidiary companies, advertising and promotion agencies and legal and financial advisors are not eligible to participate in this grant. For purpose of the foregoing "immediate family" means parents, spouses, children, siblings or any members of the same households of such employees and directors. This Contest is void outside of the 50 U.S., in Puerto Rico, all US territories and possessions and were prohibited by law.
