2026 Best Nursing Team

Purpose: St. Joseph Hospital honors nurses and their teams that collectively and collaboratively exhibit the skills, expertise, and personal attributes that enhance to the delivery of exceptional patient care. The teams demonstrate clinical excellence within their nursing practice and develop innovative approaches that improve patient outcomes. They engage respectfully and professionally with the interdisciplinary team, elevating the nursing profession and consistently embodying the St. Joseph Hospital core values: Compassion, Integrity, Collaboration and Excellence.
The St. Joseph Hospital Best Nursing Team Award recognizes an exceptional nursing team that exemplifies that highest standard of collaboration, professionalism, and excellence in patient care. This award honors a team that demonstrates outstanding communication and interdepartmental collaboration, working seamlessly as a unified group and modeling positive behaviors across the organization. The award celebrates teams that foster growth through the development of new programs, active engagement with new staff, students, and Project Search interns, and meaningful contributions that enhance the nursing community. Recipients of this award consistently strive for positive patient outcomes as measured through quality metrics, while embracing innovative problem-solving, nurturing leadership, and advancing the nursing profession. This award acknowledges a team that supports one another, values each member’s contributions, and advances nursing practice through integration of clinical excellence, professional development, and achievement of specialty certifications- embodying the spirit and mission of St Joseph Hospital.
Eligibility: Any nursing team at St Joseph Hospital
Process: Any employee, physician, patient or volunteer may nominate. Recipients will be selected based on evidence provided by completion of the nomination criteria.
Award: Aware winners will be announced and presented during Nurses’ Week.
Deadline: All nominations must be received by April 18, 2026.
Instructions: Please cite specific examples including patient and physician comments. Expectation is to have at least 3-4 paragraphs to support this nominee. Failure to provide multiple, specific examples may result in disqualification of nomination.
