All About TAASA’s 2027 Theme and RFP

The Texas Association Against Sexual Assault (TAASA) is seeking proposals for workshop presentations for the 2027 TAASA Conference to be held from June 27, 2027, to June 30th, 2027, at DFW Marriott Hotel and Golf Club at Champions Circle, Fort Worth, TX. All speakers who are selected to present a workshop session are eligible to attend our in-person conference for a discounted registration of $200.
This year’s theme, “Under the Texas Sky”, is more than a theme— it shows our connection to one another and the different places these connections come from: our roots, our work, our beliefs, our communities, and the paths that brought us to this field. Whether we stand as advocates, law enforcement, or partners in this journey, each vantage point offers a different view, but all are part of the same horizon. Just as the Texas sky shifts from sunrise to storm, from starlight to moonrise, our systems of support reach across the state in just as many forms. Our theme, Under the Texas Sky, highlights that no matter where we are, we are interconnected, and together we work to serve survivors in Texas.

We're seeking proposals that reflect the many vantage points of this work: the roles, regions, communities, and approaches that make up our shared sky. Tell us how your corner of the field connects to the larger picture by sharing what you've learned, what's shifting your view, or what impact looks like from where you stand. We welcome proposals from experienced presenters designed to meet audiences at every level, from those just beginning to find their footing in this work to those bringing years of advanced practice.

With this in mind, workshops should fit into one of the following focus areas:
1. Organizational Management and Strategy
2. Border/Rural Programming
3. Wellness, Healing, and Community Care
4. Prevention and Community Education
5. Survivor-Centered Advocacy Approaches
6. Survivor-Centered Counseling Approaches
7. Systems Response, SARTs, and Policy Change

Please keep in mind that sessions will be 1.5 hours in length.
