For the purpose of this survey, we define AI tools as software systems that generate, transform, analyse or interpret content using machine-learning models without direct human control. These include (but are not limited to):
· Generative AI models that can produce text, images or code.
· Tools that assist with data analysis, statistical modelling or automated annotation.
· Text translation, editing or summarisation assistants.
