The professional development workshop is presented by Carmelita Lee, NISN Diné Culutral Educator.

Objectives: Learners will be able to analyze and explain Navajo (Diné) traditional moon stories and relate those narratives to observable lunar phases, demonstrating cultural understanding and scientific description in both written and oral formats

This presentation will help to prepare for aspiring Diné Language teachers who do not yet possess a 520 Native American Language and Culture Certification (NALCC) in New Mexico. Also, the workshop is open to current 520 certified Diné Language teachers receive Professional Development Clock hours. At conclusion of the workshop, all attendees must complete a program's survey.
