Lola's Love Scholarship Grant

This grant opportunity is in memory of Lola Donelson – a loving and kind soul who left this earth at an early age. Throughout her life, Lola’s superpower was empathy, as she cared strongly and deeply about others. She had an innate sense of justice and would readily stand up for anyone – whether she knew them or not – if she felt they were being wronged or mistreated. Even before she could talk, Lola would approach others she saw in distress to offer a helping hand. Lola had a magical energy that could brighten any space she was in and any hearts she was near.

Lola’s legacy will live on through sharing love and kindness to others. We are pleased to offer this grant to four (4) graduating seniors in good standing who have attended Foothills Montessori in Henderson, NV, or Garrison Forrest School in Pikesville, MD, (two (2) seniors who attended each school). Candidates must complete the following questionnaire, answer 3 of the 4 writing prompts and submit 2 letters of recommendation.

Each selected candidate will receive a $5,000 grant which can be used flexibly - for college, trade school, a gap year, or a service oriented project prior to continuing education. By accepting the grant, the successful candidates agree to a 2027 spring virtual or in-person interview with Lola's Love to discuss how the funding was utilized and what they learned from their experience.

Applications are due by May 8, 2026. Selected candidates will be notified on May 22, 2026.
