The Falkland Islands Government (FIG) is currently developing modernised anti-discrimination legislation. The first phase of this work focuses on protections relating to race.
This means it will be unlawful to treat a person less favourably because of their race (discrimination), to subject them to unwanted conduct related to race that violates their dignity or creates an offensive environment (harassment), or to treat them unfairly because they have made or supported a complaint about discrimination (victimisation).
This questionnaire aims to help FIG understand the employment landscape in the Falkland Islands, the impact of proposed anti-discrimination-legislation, and identify the support and guidance employers would find most useful.
You are an employer if you have people working for you. This includes people who are:
• paid or unpaid (such as trainee or interns)
• full time, part time, temporary, or seasonal
• working under a contract
If anyone works for your organisation, you should complete the Employer Questionnaire, which will take 5 minutes to complete.
There are no right or wrong answers — we’re interested in your experience and views. Your feedback will help ensure the legislation is clear, fair, and practical.
