Community Survey: What Makes a Great Director of Police Accountability for the City of Berkeley?

Survey Purpose:
The City of Berkeley is partnering with an external recruiting firm, WBCP Inc., to assist us in recruiting for the next Director of Police Accountability. We would like your input on the core attributes, qualities of leadership, and technical strengths we should be looking for to support our organization and community. Please take a few moments to share your feedback—your responses are greatly appreciated.

Please respond by Wednesday, June 10th, 2026. Your responses will remain anonymous and will be used to inform the ideal candidate profile and provide guidance to the City Council regarding the hiring process.

ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK & ENGAGEMENT OPTIONS: The City is holding an in-person community meeting on Tuesday, May 26th from 6:00 – 8:00PM, where members of the public can attend and provide feedback in-person/verbally. Community members may also choose to attend this meeting virtually. Details for this meeting will be publicized on City channels.
