Aligning with the goals of the CEC 2024–2026 Youth Engagement Strategy, reaching youth, fostering engagement and building an intergenerational network, the CEC Youth Engagement Week (YEW) is an annual event designed to embrace youth perspectives in North America by fostering their active participation in the CEC’s work and efforts.
Themed “Youth Breaking Silos,” the 2025 Youth Engagement Week (YEW) invites youth from across Canada, Mexico, and the United States to join a dynamic series of open-to-the-public webinars designed to amplify youth voices, foster intergenerational collaboration and promote solutions to environmental challenges.
This year’s theme celebrates intersectional, intergenerational expertise and youth’s contributions in North America. Through interactive sessions, youth leaders and organizations that support youth will share insights on CEC’s cross-cutting areas of work: Indigenous knowledge, subnational and community resilience and youth and private sector engagement.

- Fill out all the questions in the application form by the deadline: 16 October 2025, 11:59 p.m. (your local time). You will be able to edit your responses after submitting your application form as long as you do so before the application deadline. To do this, you will need to access the application form from the same device you used to fill it out the first time.
Mandate & Role Description
Speakers will share their experiences and insights during one of the three webinars focused on Indigenous knowledge, subnational and community resilience and youth and private sector engagement. Speakers may be youth (18–35 years old) themselves or representatives of organizations that support youth. The mandate includes participation in preparatory meetings, coordination with facilitators and active engagement during the webinar. Interpretation and translation support in English, Spanish and French will be provided. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a trinational dialogue and showcase impactful, youth-led work.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must have experience relevant to at least one of the three webinar topics
- Must be available for preparatory meetings and the webinar between October and December 2025
- Must demonstrate a commitment to youth-led environmental action and knowledge sharing
For Youth Speakers
- Must be between 18 and 35 years old
- Must have collaborated with or currently be collaborating with or supported by an organization in the past 5 years that would be ready to present their youth engagement strategy and principles during the webinar
- Must reside in Canada, Mexico or the United States
For representatives of an organization that supports youth
- Must have collaborated with or currently be collaborating with or supported a youth team or youth-led organization in the past 5 years that would be ready to present their initiatives during the webinar
- Must operate in Canada, Mexico or the United States
