Regional Tourism Office 9 (RTO 9) is an independent not-for-profit, industry-led organization whose purpose is to support the tourism industry and attract visitors to their region, South Eastern Ontario (see map). This includes:

- 1000 Islands Rideau Canal Waterways
- Bay of Quinte
- Brockville
- Cornwall
- Frontenac County
- Kingston
- Lennox & Addington
- Prescott & Russell
- Prince Edward County
- Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SDG) Counties
As part of this work, RTO 9 is developing a strategic plan for Cycling Tourism, and your input can help shape it. All questions in this survey relate to the communities and area within the RTO 9 region.

What is cycling tourism?
Cycling tourism is any trip where biking is a core part of the experience—not just a way to get around.
For some, the purpose of a trip is about the final destination (e.g., a city or tourist site). For others, it is about enjoying the cycling journey. Often, it’s both!
This can range from cyclists enjoying a multi-day trip covering long distances, to shorter day trips along local trails from a ‘home base’, and anything in between.
Safe routes and networks, cycling infrastructure, and other considerations are all part of a successful cycle tourism ecosystem. Cycle tourism also requires partners and partnerships with local communities, businesses, and services.
This study is being done with the acknowledgement that other organizations, public agencies and municipalities may be undertaking similar or complementary work. This project will integrate these efforts where it makes sense while also exploring a uniquely regional tourism perspective.

Your input will inform how RTO 9 develops future cycling experiences, directs investment, and helps to grow cycling tourism across the region.
