Succession, whether internal or external, will affect everyone working in financial advice and the clients we support. With a significant number of financial advice firms estimated to change hands in the next five years, this has far-reaching implications for the people working in those firms and for the continuity of service and outcomes for their clients.

Yet no one has ever asked the profession as a whole for its views on this issue.

This completely anonymous survey is the first profession-wide attempt to understand how owners, advisers, paraplanners, administrators, managers and other professionals view succession, including their plans, priorities and concerns.

By taking part, you’ll help us establish the true state of succession planning across the profession and identify where the Succession Alliance can provide the greatest support.

Importantly, this survey is for everyone working in financial advice firms, not just business owners.
  • The survey should take 5–10 minutes to complete
  • Everything is anonymous
As a thank you for taking part, you can register to receive early access to the findings and insights from the survey.

Please also share this survey with colleagues and your wider network so they can help shape the future of succession in financial advice.
