Summary: The Coach Advisory Council representatives make recommendations to USA Archery on the USA Archery instructor and coach certification programs, continuing education, and opportunities and challenges in the coaching community. The Coach Advisory Council meets as needed. The Council is advisory by nature and reports to USA Archery staff. All official actions require USA Archery CEO or BOD approval.
Minimum Requirements:
Coach Representatives must be a current USA Archery member in good standing with a current USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Certification or higher.
Athlete Representatives must be 18 years of age or older, have a current USA Archery membership in good standing, a current USA Archery Background Screening, and a current U.S. Center for SafeSport Training. It is recommended that Athlete representatives have an interest in coaching.
Athlete Representatives must meet the definition of an Eligible Athlete, Eligible Para Athlete or Actively Engaged Athlete as defined in Section 9.4 of the USA Archery Bylaws.
Term Length: 2 Years
Maximum Consecutive Terms: 3 Terms
If an advisory council member serves any number of two-year terms as the Athlete Representative, their maximum term limit will not start over if they are consecutively elected to serve as a Coach Representative. The same will apply to a Coach Representative who moves to a new region. For example, an archer serving one, two-year term as an Athlete Representative, may then serve only two, two-year terms as a Coach Representative.
Elections:
· Two Coach Representatives will be elected by current USA Archery Level 2 Instructor, and higher, coaches.
· One Athlete Representatives will be selected by the USA Archery Athlete Advisory Council and Para Athlete Advisory Council
Terms:
Representative terms are two years. Representatives agree to and comply with the USA Archery Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics. Service is an unpaid volunteer position. In addition to meetings, council service is anticipated to average 5-10 hours per year.
