TREx is partnering with The Wildflower Alliance
to expand Hearing Voices Groups across Texas!

While this application is person specific, individual applicants are expected to have coordinated with their supervisor (and the TREx team) before submitting applications.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Applications will be accepted through Monday, March 23rd, reviewed on a rolling basis, and all applicants notified no later than March 25th.
**Please note that the TREx Program team will be out the week of March 16th for spring break and not monitoring applications or communications during this time.__________________________________________________
Facilitator Training This Facilitator Training will prepare peer specialist participants to start Hearing Voices groups where they work. It is a series of six live, virtual Zoom sessions, held twice a week over a 3-week period. Participants must complete the application, be accepted, attend ALL SIX sessions, and complete homework assignments to receive their facilitator certification.
Dates & TimesAll sessions will be from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm CT.
Session 1: Tuesday, April 21
Session 2: Thursday, April 23
Session 3: Tuesday, April 28
Session 4: Wednesday, April 29
Session 5: Monday, May 4
Session 6: Tuesday, May 5
There will be breaks during each session - more information about this will be communicated by The Wildflower Alliance trainers closer to the event.
*Participants will receive CEUs in addition to the training certification.__________________________________________________
Who Can Apply
Please review the following requirements carefully and contact us with any questions.
Qualified applicants must:
- Be employed (or in a formal volunteer position) as a peer specialist at an agency participating in the TREx program;
- Have the support of their agency leadership/ supervisor and a plan to begin facilitating HVN groups in the near future;
- Have a co-facilitator who is (or will be) credentialed as an HVN facilitator;
- Be comfortable with and committed to creating a space for people in recovery to speak about and make sense of their own experiences that is free from medical/ clinical interpretation; and
- Agree to abstain from providing any treatment directives or advice (in alignment with the Texas Peer Specialist Code of Ethics).
COST: This training is free. Costs are covered by TREx funding from Texas HHSC and the support of UT Health Science Center.
